Bell Bearings are key items obtained by various means in Elden Ring. Each has a specific name and rank and they have a very specific purpose.After obtaining a Bell Bearing, giving them to the Twin Maiden Husks in Roundtable Hold unlocks the sale of specific items, with rewards depending on the Bell Bearing given.
If you kill certain NPCs, whether they attack you in the wild, you let your curiosity get the best of you, or they die as part of their quest, they will often drop Bell Bearings. Moreover, if the NPC was also a merchant, anything they would have sold will appear at the Twin Maiden Husk shop, meaning you won't lose access to unique spells, etc.
Killing bosses, particularly in areas that are focused on Smithing, (like the Crystal Tunnel minidungeons in various areas) will reward Bell Bearings. These Bell Bearings will typically allow you to infinitely purchase the smithing stones that are available in those tunnels, but some unlock other things.
Several excellent Bell Bearings can be found on corpses around The Lands Between. If you see something shiny, be sure to pick it up!
The following Bell Bearings will let you purchase various types of materials - some of which are used to craft different items, and although they are basic materials, they can be bought in bulk to make sure you never run out of the items to craft.
These bell bearings can only be obtained by defeating powerful Bell Bearing Hunters who appear in different regions in the Lands Between, always in place of a merchant at night time.
The following Bell Bearings will let you purchase two types of bolstering materials - Smithing Stones and Somber Smithing Stones - used to increase the damage output and scaling in your primary weapons. You can also unlock various types of rocks.
These bell bearings are often found by defeating the powerful bosses of different mini dungeons.

The following Bell Bearings will let you purchase two types of bolstering materials - Ghost Glovewort and Grave Glovewort - used to increase the damage output and general strength of your Spirit Ash Summons by using Roderika at the Roundtable Hold.
These bell bearings are often found by looting bodies hidden across the land.
